Notes

[1] In addition to the fees in the schedule above, students may be charged other fees such as the ones listed below:

Document Fee: All new students admitted for academic year 2025-26 will be charged a one-time, life-time document fee of $150. Graduate students in the following professional degree programs are excluded and are instead charged on a pay-per-service basis: MD, JD, DVM, MBA, MPAc, MSBA & MoM. More information about the Document Fee.

The International Student Administrative Fee : All International students who are either sponsored by UC Davis for F-1 or J-1 status or would be sponsored by UC Davis for F-1 or J-1 status if physically present in the United States, will be charged the International Student Administrative Fee (ISAF). The fees will be assessed in the fall, winter, and spring terms only ($138 per quarter or $207 per semester); the fees will not be assessed during summer terms. More information about the International Student Administrative Fee.

International graduate students (admitted prior to fall 2023) who paid the one-time ISAF fee and are currently pursuing a program of study in F-1 or J-1 status or who resume F-1 or J-1 status after an approved leave of absence not to exceed one academic year, may complete that program of study and will not be charged this fee. If the graduate student enrolls in a new program, they will be charged the $396 annual fee (assessed at $138 per quarter or $207 per semester).

UC Graduate and Professional Council Systemwide Fee: All graduate students will be charged a UC Graduate and Professional Council (UCGPC) Systemwide Fee (inclusive of students in self-supporting graduate degree programs). The UCGPC Systemwide Fee is an annual, opt-out fee of $7 per graduate student to be charged at the beginning of each academic term. The fees will be assessed in the fall, winter, and spring terms only ($3 for the fall quarter, $2 for the winter quarter, and $2 for the spring quarter or $3.50 per semester); the fees will not be assessed during summer terms. More information about the UCGPC Fee.

[2] All UC Davis students are required to have health insurance. In order to satisfy this requirement, all registered students are automatically enrolled in the University of California Student Health Insurance Plan (UC SHIP). If students have comparable insurance and do not want to be enrolled in UC SHIP, they must apply for a UC SHIP waiver by the date specified for their college or school. More information about UC SHIP, including costs, coverage and other insurance details

[3] The fees above exclude students enrolled in self-supporting degree programs. Students enrolled in self-supporting degree programs pay a program fee in lieu of the fees above. Visit the self-supporting degree program page for more information.

[4] Per the authority and practices of the University of California, Office of the President (UCOP), NRST is automatically waived for international doctoral students for the first three calendar years (nine academic quarters) post-candidacy. Information regarding the UCOP Waiver of Nonresident Supplemental Tuition for doctoral students for the first three years post-candidacy can be found in the November 16, 2005 Minutes of the Committee on Finance, The Regents of the University of California (see pages 2 and 15) and in the UCOP Budget Analysis and Planning document.

On the 10th quarter, after the UCOP Non-Resident Supplemental Tuition (NRST) Waiver period, international doctoral students are again charged NRST until they complete their degrees. More information about NRST programs.

Figures for tuition and fees represent currently approved or proposed amounts and may not be final. Actual tuition and fees are subject to change by the University of California as determined to be necessary or appropriate. Final approved tuition and fee levels may differ from the amounts presented. Some or all instruction for all or part of the academic year may be delivered remotely. Tuition and fees have been set regardless of the method of instruction and will not be refunded in the event instruction occurs remotely for any part of the academic year.
