What is a 1098-T Form?

Form 1098-T:  Tuition Payments Statement is the information return that colleges and universities are required to issue for the purpose of determining a student's eligibility for the Hope and Lifetime Learning education tax credits.  IRS Form 1098-T Tuition Statement is available online in an electronic format at My.ucdavis.edu under the myAccounting tile.

You can also access your form and select "Access My Record". You will be required to login to a secure portion of the web site to access your individual 1098-T information using your student ID or Social Security Number. From your student record page you will be able to print the form by selecting "View My 1098-T Tax Form" and choosing print.

The University of California has contracted with the Tax Credit Reporting Service (TCRS) to electronically produce your IRS Form 1098-T Tuition Statement and can be reached at 877.467.3821 for your 1098-T inquiries.

When can I expect to receive my 1098-T form?

You can expect the 1098-T form to be available at the end of January.

I received an e-mail asking me to update my SSN but I do not have one. What should I do?

The University is required to request TIN/SSN to all students that do not have one on file. If you do not have either, you do not need to file an IRS form WS-9. We will put a notation in the system that you do not have one.

This is a yearly requirement and you will continue to receive emails in the future as long as there is not number on file. If at any point during your stay at UC Davis, and you obtain a SSN/TIN you should update your records with us.
