Test AFS the Client

What to do How to do it
A. Launch TP and Test Performance To test the AFS client, launch DaFIS TP and use it the way you normally would. There should be a noticeable improvement in performance.

The first time you load DaFIS TP via the AFS client, all required files are copied from the network into the AFS client cache file on your hard drive. The second time a file is accessed (e.g., if you exit DaFIS TP and then start it again), it can be retrieved from the AFS cache; this increases the performance even more. The AFS client cache is cleared each time you restart your computer.

B. Troubleshooting If you have any problems with the AFS Client software, please check our AFS Troubleshooting Guide for a list of the most common problems and their solutions.

If you do not see a performance improvement after installing this software, be sure to check the Spurious Mapping of \\proxy-afs\desktop section of the troubleshooting guide.
