Distribution Services

Incoming Mail

Incoming mail is scheduled to arrive at your department mail stop at approximately the same time each day. Unless you have made special arrangements with the Delivery Supervisor, mail will only be delivered to and collected at your mail drop. If your department will be closed temporarily, or if you will be moving the location of your mail stop, please contact the campus Mail Services or UCDMC Mail Services.

Delivery by Private Carriers

Carriers such as United Parcel Service (UPS) and Federal Express (FedEx) deliver directly to UCD departments. If there is a problem with a delivery by a private carrier, you must contact the carrier to correct it. Do not redirect deliveries from private carriers through Mail Services.

Misdirected Mail

Special gray envelopes are provided to departments for returning misdirected mail to Mail Services. This process alerts the Delivery Supervisor so that action can be taken to correct the problem. Mail that has your department name, but does not belong to your department, should be forwarded according to the Forwarding Mail instructions.

PO Email Fraud Alert

We want to alert you to an active email scam involving purchase orders and email requests for product quotes that purport to originate from UC Davis, but are in fact fraudulent. While the university cannot prevent this illegal activity, we are actively working with law enforcement to investigate these fraudulent email contacts. To verify authenticity of an order, please contact Contracting Services at (530) 752-0370.
