UC Fair Wage/Fair Work
Procurement and Contracting Services
In response to the Fair Wage/Fair Work (FW/FW) initiative from the University of California Office of the President, effective October 1, 2015, Procurement and Contracting Services will require all contractors and subcontractors to pay their employees a wage that meets or exceeds UC’s new minimum wage plan.
In addition, any contract renewal/extension will require the contractor to sign an amendment acknowledging compliance with the new FW/FW plan. For services that exceed $100,000 annually, annual audits will be funded by the contractors, and implemented as new contracts are established and existing ones are renewed.
The new minimum wage plan will apply to ALL service contracts EXCEPT the following:
- Service not performed on UC property
- Public Works projects where Prevailing Wage applies and where the Prevailing Wage rate exceeds the Fair Wage (exception is landscapers)
- Contracts subject to extramural funding (including sub-agreements and sub-awards)
